Sanitation, Reliability, Technology
We are producing almost all types of melons indoor and in open field. We are able to sow melons from September to end February. Peru is known as free from CGMMV and Fruit Bloch diseases.
All our crops are grown at our Home farm. A specialized team of workers control the crops under a rigorous quality control during all the production stages what secures highest seed quality. Our sanitation levels are very high to avoid seed born diseases.
We are producing our seed crops in “open field” and Indoor” as well.
Open field: We are growing our seed crops in around 50 Ha. Our fields have sandy soil and we are irrigating all our crops with drip irrigation.
In open field we are producing: Determinate Tomato, Watermelon and Melon.
The minimum size of the open field units is 0.5 ha. We are not mixing different customers in the same unit.
Indoor Areas: We are running the Indoor production area as a GSPP site, without certification, in order to avoid infection of seed born diseases as: Tobamovirus (TMV, PepMV, ToBRFV), Clavibacter etc.
The standard size of our indoor units is; greenhouses of 3.000 sqm and tunnels of 540 sqm for small productions, all the units are covered with 50 mesh insect proof net. Those unit sizes are giving us a high flexibility which we are offering to our customers. Since 2016 we are growing in coco growbags in order to avoid any possible soil infection of seed borne diseases. After each crop we are cleaning, disinfecting the area and changing for new growbags.
The indoor crops are: Tomato, Pepper, Melon, Cucumber and Lettuce.
Nursery: All our seedlings are produced in our own nursery. We are also grafting Tomato and Watermelon in order to get better yield and quality.
